Hello DOORS community, Like most users, I have to wait in line to get a license. There are many ocassions when I want to just open the Help file. In DOORS 8.3 this was easy, however double clicking on the Help application in DOORS 9.5 in MS explorer results in the following message: ===================== A JRE or JDK must be available in order to run help No Java virtual machine was found after seaching the following location C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.5\help\jre\javaw.exe
===================== I noticed an java "version specific folder" in my installation of DOORS. C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Ratiional\DOORS\9.5\ibm_jre60\bin\javaw.exe I dont understand why the tool would install java run time there while the help file expects it in a different location. I installed DOORS 9.5.2 fix_pack directly (without a base instalation of DOORS 9.5.1). I have heard conflicting opinions as to whether installing the fix pack on its own was enough. Maybe by taking this shortcut this I have asked for trouble. Am I guilty as charged?
cheers Colm

Re: Starting DOORS help from explorer Hi Colm, The methods for accessing the help is listed at: You can install the DOORS 9.5.2.0 fix pack without having 9.5.1, that won't be a problem. It is a full install so if you don't have a previous version you are fine. But if you do have a previous version, it will replace it. |
